Seger ha grabado numerosos éxitos del rock and roll, como "Night Moves", "Still the same", "We've Got Tonight", "Against the winds", "Like a Rock", "Shakedown", "The fire inside" y también escribió junto con The Eagles el éxito "Heartache Tonight" que llegó al puesto No.1 de los chart. "Against the wind" fue ganador de dos premios Grammy.
